Oorian 1.0 Is Here

I am pleased to announce that Oorian 1.0 has officially been released.

This is a milestone I've been working toward for a long time. While the Oorian Framework has been powering a production SaaS application for over a decade, this is the first time it's available as an official, downloadable product.

What's Included in 1.0

This release includes everything you need to start building server-side Java web applications with Oorian:

  • Oorian Core Framework — the foundation for building interactive web applications entirely in Java
  • Oorian LaunchPad — an embedded server for running Oorian apps standalone, no external servlet container required
  • Quick Start Projects — ready-to-run starter projects for NetBeans, IntelliJ, Eclipse, and VS Code

UI Extensions

  • ApexCharts UI Extension
  • Bootstrap UI Extension
  • Chart.js UI Extension
  • ECharts UI Extension
  • Font Awesome UI Extension
  • Tailwind CSS UI Extension

Add-Ons

  • reCAPTCHA Add-On
  • RSS Add-On

All of these are available now from our Downloads page.

Getting Started

If you're new to Oorian, I'd recommend starting with the Getting Started guide. It walks you through downloading a quick-start project, building your first page, and running your application.

A Personal Note

While I have been developing a production SaaS for a decade, this is my first official downloadable product. I've tried to make everything as easy as possible to get started, but if you run into any problems or find any mistakes in the documentation, please let me know.

This release encompasses years worth of work and knowledge, so there were an incredible number of details to get right. No doubt, some mistakes have been made — and I'm counting on the community to help me find them.

I am looking forward to your feedback.
